Why could the european immigrants come to the USA and accept the crap ass jobs, learn english, and work there way up all in the pursuit of the american dream. Even the african americans after slavory for the most part flourished and did what they had to, a lot lost their way but still. BUT now theres been this mass rush of hispanics into this country and instead of falling in step and working their way up came here with an "its our world attitude". They choose not to learn english, choose to work illegally or commit crimes for the quick buck or live off the tax payers! The worst part is though!! The whole country lets them! Now on every form or sign theres english and spanish. If you say to be fair!, then why not add italian, french, portuguese, german, and russian to the forms too! I am a mut! German, Italian, French, Hewbrew, Norwegian, and Polish. If all my ancestors could come over on a boat and make something of themselves with nothing but their strong wills and love of life then why cant these people????

The only thing that pisses me off is if they don't speak english because then I have to learn spanish to be able to interact with them.

Not an American, but I completely agree with you.
We have a similar situation (though arguably on a smaller scale) here with the Muslims, except they want us to change our cultural practices to accommodate them.

I know some do my stepfather is one of them. A proud puerto rican! But he speaks english and worked very hard every day until he became ill. Im not saying there arent success stories but the percentage is small.

and i have not once seen an example of a mexican immigrant who somehow unfairly takes advantage of US tax dollars. Illegal immigrants end up paying taxes most of the time, anyway, and they don't receive any benefit from that.
